Catching up with Leo
Leo's been doing great. All of a sudden, he's almost 8 months old! He's not too big of a fan of sleeping, with his one hour naps and waking up before 6am every morning, but we tell ourselves it's just because he loves spending time with us so much. Here are some pictures of Leo from the past couple months that I haven't put up on here yet:

Grandma and Grandpa!
The best part of graduation for Luke was having his grandparents in town. They got in Thursday night and left Monday. We played with dinosaurs, watched the Elmo's World segment on dinosaurs several times, and read dinosaur books (any guesses as to what Luke is really into these days???). But we also got out and did some other fun things.
On Friday morning, we headed out to the Chiles Peach Orchard in Crozet to pick strawberries! Luke did his part to find some good ones:
Leo wasn't quite sure what we were doing, though:
But he still ended up having a good time:
...as did the rest of us. Luke even got to ride in a wagon:
We finished off the outing with some fresh strawberry milkshakes:
Besides strawberry picking, we also went to the park and did some walks around where we live. But like I said, Luke was content to just stick around the apartment, play dinosaurs... and read the paper:

Graduation!
Now that the overdue Final Four post is out of the way, we can move on to more current events. Last Sunday I graduated from law school! Finishing school was admittedly a little bit anticlimatic with all the bar exam studying ahead of me this summer, but putting on the cap and gown certainly provided a bit of perspective on how much has gone into getting to where we are today as a family. It's been great, but we're also looking forward to transitioning to the next stage in our lives.
My parents came into town on Thursday evening and stayed until Monday. Luke just loved having them here. He had the time of his life. I'll put up a separate post about all the things we did when they were here and stick to the graduation pictures for this one.
Here's the big moment of receiving my diploma from the dean of the law school:

We tried to get a good picture with the boys, but the ceremony fell right during naptime, so they had just about had it by the end:
Luke can be pretty cute, though, when he's tired:

Final Four!
This post is long overdue, but it must be done. Sure, the Final Four might have been almost two months ago, but I still get pumped up about it when I think about how awesome it was. It would've been a fun time anyway, but the fact that Duke won the national championship made it all the more memorable.
One really cool thing about the trip is that we were able to meet up with some good friends of mine from college, whom I hadn't seen since 2003, when I left for my mission. We went out to dinner Sunday night and celebrated together at the team hotel after Duke won the national championship:
Obviously, the Final Four game against West Virginia went quite well, and so it was on to the national championship game on Monday night! Kari and I had a pretty quiet day Sunday and then on Monday, we went to the Bracket Town expo and hung out downtown before the game. We stumbled upon the Duke hotel and spent some time there before the game. It was awesome.
Here I am posing in front of the team bus:
We saw Johnny Dawkins in the hotel lobby!
The best part about chilling at the team hotel before the game, though, was that we got to see all the coaches and players walk right by us as they got onto the bus to go to the game. We didn't get any pictures of that, but Kari did get some video of it on her camera.
But anyway, after all that, we headed over to the stadium. On the way, we ran into Crazy Towel Guy!
Here we are right before tip-off:
To say it was a good game would be an understatement. It was a classic! I couldn't belive it when Hayward missed that last shot, I was sure it was in. But we won! What a great experience it was to be there!
As I mentioned, after the game, we made our way over to the team hotel to celebrate! We had to wait quite a while for the team to show up, but it was worth it! It was crazy there, tons of fans were waiting along with us! We were on the first row of the rope line, though, and got to high five all the players and coaches as they walked into the hotel. We also saw some former players, including Gerald Henderson:
And we got our picture taken with Sean Dockery:
All in all, a great, great, night and a great weekend. Thanks for inviting me, Kari!
It all started when Kari (my sister) got two tickets to the Final Four in Indianapolis via the NCAA lottery. The deal was that I would get to accompany her if Duke made it, and otherwise she would go with her fiance, Mark. Once Duke beat Baylor in the Elite Eight, it was time to get ready for a roadtrip! On that Friday, Courtney and I drove up to PA with the boys, where they'd spend the weekend. Kari then picked me up the next morning and we drove to Indy. That night was game night! Duke vs. West Virginia. And now for some pictures...
Here I am outside the stadium before the game:
And here's the view from our seats. We were up in the nosebleeds, but the view was still pretty good:

No more school!
As of Thursday at about 11:30am, I am officially done with school! It's a bit odd to think my student days are behind me, but then again, studying for the bar exam this summer won't feel all that different.
In the meantime, the boys have continued to do a great job of being awesome. It's time to get the blog back up-to-date, and I'll start with a couple random pictures of Luke and Leo. First off is Leo with a particularly big smile:
Courtney bought Luke a new suit and tie, and I must say, he looked quite good in it. Unfortunately, he wouldn't stand still for any good pictures, but this one isn't bad:
And finally, here's one of the boys just hanging out, playing with dinosaurs:

That time of year...
Finals are approaching... but fortunately this is the last time I will be saying that! It's hard to believe I'll be done with the "school" thing in less than a month! (Of course, then there's the whole bar exam thing, but anyway...) I definitely need to do a post about my Final Four trip with my sister, but for now, I'll catch up on a few pictures of the boys...
Leo got his first haircut a few weeks ago, it was getting a bit out of control around his ears and in the back. Here's a before picture:
And here's an after picture:
Courtney and the boys spent a good bit of time up in PA the past couple of weeks with all my traveling, and Luke had a great time as always. When we pulled back into our parking lot at home in C'ville, he yelled out, "Noooooo! I wanna go Grammy and Pappy's house!":
And finally, here's a picture of Luke with a couple of his friends back here at home:

Busy!
No, this blog hasn't been abandoned. We've just been really busy lately and have spent quite a bit of time out of town (including a trip to the Final Four, hanging out in Altoona, house hunting in Cleveland, and a bar interview in Columbus). Updates coming soon!
